The Show:

of Regional History Historic Times March 2010 edition :
In September, the Mount Airy
Museum of Regional History hosted an "Afternoon at the Canteen." The NoneSuch
Playmakers entertained all by putting on a canteen radio show for our troops circa 1946
which included popular songs, comedy sketches, and dances. The program included letters
written home by local soldiers originally published in The Mount Airy Times. When they
were read, there was not a dry eye in the house. The program helped raise awareness and
funds (through a cell phone drive) for the USO.
