The Show:
A musical tribute to the Doo-Wop
music of the 50's and 60's.
Taken from The Mount Airy
News: "From first asking someone to dance to going steady and on to the
inevitable break-up, the Debonaires walked the audience through relationships of the time
as recounted through the music. The six-member group took it in turn to sing lead or
provide accompaniment, many times in the form of doo-langs and
shoo-bops. The ladies of the group, fondly dubbed The Debonettes, even took
the stage on their own for a performance of Hes So Fine.
The Debonaires delighted
audience members ranging from the very young to the young at heart back to the glory days
of that musical genre with favorites like My Girl, One Fine Day
and Little Bitty Pretty with Will Bryant on percussion as well as vocals for
many of the songs."
The Debonaires:
Tom Beckom
Peyton Marion
Angela Llewellyn
Elizabeth Folger
Shanna Jones
