The Plot:
The
NoneSuch Playmakers bring back one of their favorite holiday
productions, their own adaptation of "The Gift of the Magi," based on
the classic story by North Carolina's own O. Henry. The story has moved
to 1960 New York City, where newlyweds Jim and Della Young are
celebrating their first Christmas as a married couple. Both of them
have big plans for Christmas gifts, but money is tight. With the help
of their neighbors, their parish priest, JIm's foreman and a mysterious
shopkeeper, Jim and Della search for a way to make Christmas everything
they hoped for. Told in flashback from the present day, this nostalgic
re-telling of O. Henry's timeless tale will touch your heart and bring
a smile to your face.
